ARMMO's Bandit-X interceptor is launched from a GDELS ASCOD vehicle during Spain's Atlas 26 exercise

TLDR

  • ARMMO and GDELS say they launched the Bandit-X interceptor from an ASCOD vehicle at Atlas 26.12
  • ARMMO says Bandit-X exceeds 360 km/h, flies 20 to 25 minutes and holds a NATO Stock Number.1
  • Both outlets repeat the companies' joint announcement; no independent test data is reported.12

ARMMO and GDELS Santa Bárbara Sistemas announced on 27 October a cooperation agreement and said they had integrated, launched and flown the autonomous Bandit-X interceptor from the ASCOD HMC vehicle during Atlas 26 in Huelva, Spain, an exercise run by the Spanish Army's Anti-Aircraft Artillery Command.12 EDR Magazine reports that Adm. Gen. Manuel Teodoro López Calderón, Spain's chief of defence staff, and Adm. Pierre Vandier, NATO's Supreme Allied Commander Transformation, were present.1 Defence Blog dates the exercise 19 to 23 October at Médano del Loro and notes the launcher had been spotted at the exercise earlier.2

ARMMO says Bandit-X exceeds 360 km/h, with a roadmap to 420 km/h, flies for 20 to 25 minutes, has an estimated range of 40 to 50 km, navigates in GNSS-denied conditions, resists interference and has autonomous terminal guidance.1 The company also says it was validated in NATO experimentation in Slovakia in 2026 and has been assigned a NATO Stock Number.1 EDR Magazine adds that the ASCOD HMC uses the NEVA architecture, built to the NGVA standard.1

Every performance figure above is ARMMO's own claim. The two reports rest on the same joint announcement, so the second is not independent corroboration.

Why it matters: mounting an interceptor on a tracked infantry vehicle points to a mobile counter-drone layer for armoured units, but the speed, range and validation claims come only from the companies and no test results were published.12
