Cyera raises $400M from Goldman Sachs at $12B+ valuation to secure AI agents
Cyera has raised another $400 million from Goldman Sachs Alternatives, extending its Series G funding round and valuing the data-security startup at more than $12 billion.1 The investment lands three months after Cyera's $600 million Series G round in June, struck at the same $12 billion-plus valuation, as investors chase companies securing the growing use of autonomous AI agents inside enterprises.2 Cyera, founded in 2021 by CEO Yotam Segev and CTO Tamar Bar-Ilan,1 says the new capital will fund product development and expansion in the US federal market, Europe and Asia-Pacific;2 the round follows the company's $1 billion acquisition of non-human-identity specialist Oasis Security in July, which added machine-identity controls to its data-security platform.3
Cyera's platform inventories and classifies sensitive data across cloud, SaaS and on-premises systems, then extends that same control to AI: its Agent Guardian product maps what every AI agent can see and do (which models, tools and data stores it touches) and can block or quarantine risky actions in real time.4 For federal customers specifically, Cyera markets the platform against CMMC, FedRAMP and FISMA compliance mandates and CISA's Zero Trust guidance, framing data-and-AI security as infrastructure for protecting mission-critical and defence-related data rather than a general enterprise tool.5
Goldman Sachs Alternatives' growth-equity arm has also been a direct investor in defence technology: it led a $1.8 billion Series E into German defence-AI and drone maker Helsing at an $18 billion valuation in July 2026, Europe's largest defence funding round to date.67 The parallel bet suggests the firm sees Cyera's data-and-AI security business as adjacent to its broader defence-tech thesis, not a separate category.
Why it matters: A second nine-figure cheque into Cyera within three months1 (from an investor simultaneously backing Europe's biggest defence-AI raise6) shows institutions treating both AI-agent security and defence-adjacent data protection as a single, fast-growing investment category, not a subset of traditional cybersecurity.5
