Rheinmetall demonstrates FV-014 loitering munition launching from a moving truck
Rheinmetall demonstrated its FV-014 loitering munition launching from a container-based system mounted on an HX truck at the National Test Centre in Cochstedt in July 2026. The system fired both while stationary and while the truck was in motion, executing simulated attack flights. It is built to work in electronically contested environments where jamming is expected. The FV-014 pairs ISR with precision strike against heavy armour, artillery and command posts at ranges up to 100 kilometres. Rheinmetall had earlier shown the weapon to a potential NATO customer in February 2026.
Why it matters: Launch-on-the-move loitering munitions make mobile artillery and armour harder to hide and cheaper to hunt.
