UADamage takes undisclosed investment from Pravo Ventures and Ondas Capital for AI demining and damage assessment
TLDR
- Ukrainian demining and damage-assessment start-up UADamage took an investment from US syndicate Pravo Ventures and Ondas Capital.12
- The amount, stage, lead and valuation were not disclosed; Pravo's site lists the deal as closed in Q3 2026.123
- Both investors describe a defence or dual-use focus; Ondas Capital expects to deploy at least $150M over two years.134
UADamage, a Ukrainian start-up founded in 2022, announced on 4 November an investment from Pravo Ventures, a US-based syndicate, and Ondas Capital, the investment platform of Nasdaq-listed Ondas.12 The parties did not disclose the deal terms, and chief executive Vitalii Lopushanskyi told Interfax-Ukraine the round size is not being publicised.12 Pravo's website lists UADamage as "Closed Q3 2026", so the deal appears to have closed before it was announced.3 The money is meant to speed up development and scaling in Ukraine, with a focus on its AI, sensor integration and the accuracy and speed of detecting explosive ordnance, and to support expansion abroad.1 The Defender reports earlier funding of $400,000 from an undisclosed investor and about $40,000 from the Ukrainian Startup Fund, plus a European Innovation Council grant.1
UADamage builds an AI platform that classifies building destruction and infrastructure damage, prioritises reconstruction and recognises minefields and explosive ordnance, using satellite, drone and ground-based sensor data.1 It names three products: Veles, a four-sensor system for finding mines on and under the ground; Cur, a real-time mine detection system; and Terra, which assesses damage to facilities and plans demining and rebuilding.1 The Defender says it works with the United Nations Development Programme, the State Emergency Service, the State Special Transport Service and demining operators in Ukraine, while Interfax lists the Ministry of Economy and the State Emergency Service.12 No revenue or contract value is given.
On the defence angle, The Defender says Pravo focuses on supporting Ukraine's defence capability and notes that UADamage "addresses the need to improve battlefield awareness and situational awareness in areas with a high concentration of mines", and that Ondas Capital "focuses on dual-use products from Ukraine and Europe".1 The company also frames the work as clearing territory of explosives left after modern wars.1
On investors, Pravo's site lists two other holdings beside UADamage, Auron Solutions and Aerobavovna.3 The Defender reported in August that Pravo had invested in Auron, a Ukrainian-American developer of AI radio-frequency systems that detect, classify and take control of hostile drones, and that Pravo's founders say the syndicate focuses on smaller deals of up to $500,000.5 Ondas Capital launched in September 2025 and said it expected to deploy at least $150M over two years, initially in Eastern Europe with a focus on Ukraine.4 Its first planned deployment was an intent to invest up to $11M in Drone Fight Group, a Ukrainian unmanned aircraft maker, announced on 8 December 2025.6 Separately, Ondas itself agreed in October 2025 to acquire a controlling interest in 4M Defense, an Israeli smart-demining company.7 The sources do not say whether UADamage and 4M Defense are connected.
Why it matters: a demining and damage-assessment company has drawn two investors that both describe a defence or dual-use focus, and one of them already owns a demining business through its parent, which suggests explosive-ordnance detection is being treated as a distinct capability.17 The cheque sizes are unknown, so the signal is about attention rather than capital.12
