UVision shows eight-canister Hero-120 launcher, CORTEX network, and Peregrine MR at AUSA
TLDR
- UVision showed an eight-canister Multi-Canister Launcher for its Hero-120 loitering munition at AUSA 2026.12
- Packaging launchers, ISR and mission software around munitions reflects a shift towards selling networked strike systems.12
- No customer was named for the launcher.12
UVision used the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) meeting in Washington to widen its pitch from individual loitering munitions to a networked system.12 Its Multi-Canister Launcher holds eight Hero-120 loitering munitions, is built for remote operation, and can be set up as a mobile, fixed, or containerised installation; a container can hold up to 20 Hero-120 or Hero-400 munitions.12 The launcher connects through CORTEX, UVision's mission-management system, and the company showed Tactical CORTEX integrated with Wayland Autonomy's IRIS airborne ISR payload.12 Border defence was the use case highlighted, and no customer was named for the launcher.12
The Hero-120 already has a foothold with the US Army: Mistral Inc. was awarded a Lethal Unmanned Systems contract worth up to $982 million in October 2025 featuring the Hero-120, first lot acceptance tests were passed in August 2026, and a follow-on order worth more than $50 million has been placed. The smaller Hero-90 is part of the Army's LASSO programme.12
UVision also presented the Peregrine MR, developed by Trim Robotics, which UVision's US subsidiary acquired in April 2025.3 Manufacturer-reported figures put it at about 6 kg with a 1 kg payload, a 20 km range, 90 km/h cruise and 180 km/h maximum speed, and roughly 15 minutes of endurance with a lethal payload or 27 minutes for reconnaissance.3 It uses an articulated "Dynamic Drive" propulsion arrangement.3 All of these figures are the company's own.3
Why it matters: UVision packaging launchers, ISR, and mission software around its munitions reflects a wider shift from selling single weapons to selling networked strike systems, and a remotely operated multi-canister launcher suggests loitering munitions being used as a distributed, semi-fixed layer, not only as a soldier-carried weapon.
